Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Unified Software Solutions LLC (“Zahava,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Zahava mobile application and related services (the “App”). Zahava was previously known as SunKiss Tracker.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
01A note about photos and the change from SunKiss Tracker
A previous version of this app, SunKiss Tracker, processed photos only on your device and never uploaded them. That is no longer the case. Zahava is now a social application. When you choose to post a photo, that photo is uploaded to and stored on our cloud infrastructure (Supabase) and is shared with the members of the circle you post it to. Please read Sections 4, 5, and 6 carefully so you understand how this works before you post anything.
02Who this Policy covers
The App is available worldwide and is intended for users aged 17 and older. It is not directed to children. See Section 13.
03Information we collect
We keep collection to what the App genuinely needs to work.
- Account information. Your email address and authentication credentials, your display name, and any profile details you choose to add. Authentication and password handling are managed through our infrastructure provider (Supabase); we do not store your password in plain text.
- Profile and tanning preferences. Your Fitzpatrick skin type and tanning preferences and settings.
- Tanning session and UV data. Information you log or that the App records about your sessions, including session duration (“tan time”), the UV index associated with a session, session mode, and timestamps.
- Approximate location. We collect an approximate, locality-level location — typically your city, state, and general area or neighborhood (for example, “East Hollywood,” “West Hollywood,” or “Santa Monica” rather than simply “Los Angeles”). We use this to retrieve local UV index data and to display location as a stat within your circles. We do not collect or share precise GPS coordinates of your exact position. You can control location access through your device settings.
- Photos. Photos you choose to upload and post. These are stored on our servers and shared with circle members as described below.
- Circle information. The circles you create or join, the invite codes used, your membership, and the list of members in a circle (which is visible to other members of that circle).
- Subscription information. Whether you hold an active subscription or trial. Payments and subscription management are handled by Apple through the App Store; we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
- Device and technical information. Basic technical data needed to operate the App reliably, such as device type, operating system version, app version, and crash or error information.
- Communications. Messages you send us, for example support requests sent to info@zahava.app.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the App, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
04How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
- Provide the App’s core features: UV index information, tanning recommendations, and session tracking.
- Store the photos and stats you choose to post, and display them to the members of the circles you post them to.
- Operate circles, including invite codes and member management.
- Provide and manage subscriptions and trials.
- Send you operational notifications (such as session reminders or UV alerts) where you have enabled them.
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the App.
- Maintain the security and integrity of the App, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos to train machine learning models or for advertising.
05Circles, photos, and shared stats
Zahava lets you share content within private groups called circles.
- Circles are invite-only. A circle is joined using an invite code. There is no public feed, and circle content is not discoverable by the general public or by search engines.
- When you post a photo to a circle, every current member of that circle can view it. When you share tanning stats (such as tan time, session details, UV index, and your approximate location as described in Section 3) to a circle, those stats are visible to circle members.
- The list of members in a circle is visible to the other members of that circle.
- The owner of a circle can remove any member from that circle. Once removed, a person loses access to that circle’s content.
Important: Anything you post to a circle can be seen, and potentially saved or screenshotted, by the other members of that circle. Only post photos and stats you are comfortable sharing with those people. Do not post photos of other people without their permission.
06Where photos are stored, and how deletion works
Photos and the data described above are stored on cloud infrastructure operated by our processor, Supabase. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. When you delete a photo, it is hard-deleted from our servers right away and is removed from the circle feed for all members. When you delete your account, your account data is hard-deleted. We do not keep a soft-deleted copy of your photos after you delete them, except where we are legally required to retain something or need to retain limited records to resolve disputes or enforce our Terms (see Section 9).
Note that other members may have independently saved or screenshotted a photo before you deleted it; we cannot recover or remove copies that exist outside the App.
07How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only as described here:
Service providers (subprocessors). We use a small number of trusted providers to operate the App. Each processes data only to provide services to us:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and photo/file storage.
- Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases and subscriptions, and delivery of push notifications.
- WeatherAPI.com — receives your approximate location to return local UV index and weather data.
Within circles. As described in Section 5, content you post is shared with the members of the circle you post it to.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Zahava, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
08Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the App and the features you request, including circles, photo sharing, and subscriptions.
- Consent — for optional features such as location access and push notifications. You may withdraw consent at any time through your device settings.
- Legitimate interests — to secure the App, prevent abuse, and improve our service, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law.
09Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we hard-delete it promptly as described in Section 6. We may retain limited information for longer where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or maintain security and backup integrity, after which it is deleted.
10Your rights and choices
You can, at any time:
- Access, update, or correct your profile and account information in the App.
- Delete individual photos, or delete your account and associated data, from within the App.
- Control location access and notifications through your device settings (disabling location may limit UV features).
EEA/UK users. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California users (CCPA/CPRA). Subject to applicable law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, the right to access and delete your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger a right to limit its use.
To exercise any right, use the in-App controls or contact us at info@zahava.app. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.
11Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest and restricted access to personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12International data transfers
We are based in the United States and our infrastructure may process and store data in the United States and other countries. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers.
13Children’s privacy
The App is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a person under 17 has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@zahava.app and we will delete it.
14Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
